Nehemiah 3

Leadership and working together…

So, what i notice here is that many people pitched in to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem.

1 Eliashib the high priest and his fellow priests went to work and rebuilt the Sheep Gate.

8 Uzziel son of Harhaiah, one of the goldsmiths, repaired the next section; and Hananiah, one of the perfume-makers, made repairs next to that.

Goldsmiths and Perfume-Makers

13 The Valley Gate was repaired by Hanun and the residents of Zanoah.

15 The Fountain Gate was repaired by Shallun son of Kol-Hozeh, ruler of the district of Mizpah.

17 Next to him, the repairs were made by the Levites under Rehum son of Bani.

It was shown as a family effort also.  I’m pretty sure all these people didn’t have expertise in City Wall Building.  But it’s cool to know, that when a bunch of people gather together, they can accomplish great things.

Many leaders took up a role in building the wall.  I believe it’s important that a leader is willing to help in what they do.
