Proverbs – Chapter 27

To reflect, support and love

1 Do not boast about tomorrow,
for you do not know what a day may bring.

We all brag. But to brag about tomorrow? What if the outcome is not what you expected? I would feel like a total idiot.

2 Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth;
an outsider, and not your own lips.

When someone boasts about their accomplishments, it just doesn’t sit well. I find it bias and exaggerating. Hearing it from a third party, those words will remain in my head & noted.

5 Better is open rebuke
than hidden love.

Something we Asians act poorly upon. Only by rebuking with love will it revolve one person to be better & stronger.

17 As iron sharpens iron,
so one person sharpens another.

A famous verse SNL’ers use quite often. It’s always important to support one another for whatever reasons. That includes you and me, in good times and bad.

19 As water reflects the face,
so one’s life reflects the heart.[a]

“To die is to gain.” Slowly letting a part of yourself go is not easy. Although it will be a life time process and no matter how close we think we are to God, the truth is we’re not even touching the surface.  To worship, love & to be with God, it is all worth it.
