6 Sacrifice and offering you did not desire—
but my ears you have opened—
burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not require.
Although the Old Testament law prescribed animal and grain sacrifices to deal with the problem of sin, it is clear that God really wanted faithful lives and not sacrificial performances. In Hebrews 10, we are told that Jesus’ sacrifice made all animal sacrifices obsolete and it’s through Jesus’ sacrifice that gives the power to actually forgive sins and change lives.
