Psalm 46

Be still and know that I am God.. (hit to play in background)

1 God is our refuge and strength,

an ever-present help in trouble.

2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

3 though its waters roar and foam
and the mountains quake with their surging.

6 Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

We live in a chaotic world. Internationally, wars are fought, uncertainty of what the next day holds, famine, disease and strive are all too common. Nationally, we face economic crises, crime, injustices. Around us, we have pressures of meeting datelines, we face rejection, fatigue from overworking, interpersonal conflicts. In ourselves, we struggle with our sins, the emptiness, the guilt. It truly is overwhelming when you choose to think about all these. But here, God says, to just be still. Be still, and know who God is. Know that He is your Lord, your Savior, is all-powerful, and loves you so much. Be still and know.
