No one, not one at all
1 The fool says in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt, and their ways are vile;
there is no one who does good.
2 God looks down from heaven
on all mankind
to see if there are any who understand,
any who seek God.
3 Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt;
there is no one who does good,
not even one.
We are such sinful beings. A fool would claim that God does not exist. Yet to those who do profess His existence, we are equally if not more guilty since we know that there is a God, but yet still do not seek Him.
What is seek?
It is like the woman who turned her whole house upside down to find one of her ten missing silver coins.
It is like the shepherd who went out to find 1 lost sheep, abandoning the entire flock of 99 other sheep.
We have all turned away. We often think of officials and enforcement officers as corrupt when they receive bribes or when they extort. However, here it says that we are all corrupt. Not one of us does any good. Not even one.
Therefore, next time we come to consider His salvation, remember where we are coming from. And how much more overwhelming and overpowering is His saving grace and love for us.
