Better is one day in your courts (sing to the song)
1 How lovely is your dwelling place,
2 My soul yearns, even faints,
for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and my flesh cry out
for the living God.
10 Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
Have you ever wondered what heaven is like? Do you imagine the pearly gates from all the jokes that make reference to it? Do you see angels in white on clouds playing harps? Perhaps there is worship to God, as reference in the book of Revelations.
Take a moment to reflect on the Psalmist’s words. He has found true peace and joy in the presence of our Lord. Ask yourself, do you feel the same way? If our hearts are still clinging on to our possessions, or earlthy treasures, be it family, be it work, be it respect, then maybe it’s time to come before youself and God and ask what really brings joy to your heart.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
