Song of Solomons 7
Reading this passage, it is divided into two major parts. The first part from the view of the man, and the second part from the view of the woman.
The first part is like a descriptive passage, where the man describes how much he desires the woman. From beautiful feet and jeweled legs, to the head like Mount Carmel (the same mountatin where Elijah challenged the other false prophets) and breath like apples. Every part of the body is associated with a superlative thing of beauty.
GUYS: When you love a girl, love everything about her. Tell her how much you love her and make her feel like she is the most desirable thing in this world. (God is not of this world) And then verse 8,
I said, “I will climb the palm tree;
I will take hold of its fruit.”
Make the effort to pursue her and take hold of her.
The second part if from the girl’s perspective. Here she has a submissive tone.
“May the wine go straight to my beloved”
“I belong to my beloved, and his desire is for me. ”
GIRLS: When a guys loves you whole heartedly, give yourself submissively to him.
Well, at least this is what went on between King Solomon and his wife.
