Summer Missions Informational Meeting
Summer Missions Informational Meeting | January 26, 2014 | 1-3pm | Vine Basement
Every year CCC&C has a variety of short-term missions opportunities during the summer from conducting medical missions in Nicaragua to providing life skills programs to teens in Alaska to running Vacation Bible Schools (VBS) for neighborhood children in Texas. This year, we will be sending 2 teams to Alaska from June 24th – July 15th as well as heading to Texas from July 18th – July 27th. We are also partners with a Christian medical organization in Nicaragua called AMOS, which offers a cultural immersion program for individuals as part of their medical missions effort. This opportunity is open from June 2-14 as well as from August 4-16, and recommend for those in college and up.
Our missions teams not only make and build many relationships there, but work with the local churches in their programs to train teens and minister to their local community. Teams are affectionately called YMT (Youth Missions Teams) or YAM (Young Adult Missions), but they are open to anyone who is interested and has a heart for missions or outreach. An information meeting will be held this Sunday afternoon in Vine Basement from 1-3pm for anyone interested in hearing more. If you are unable to make it or would just like to talk to someone directly, please contact Helen Hui.
Quote from one of our members in the ESM:
““I have traveled to Nicaragua three times in the past few years. Every time I go, I fall more in love with the people and culture…I revisited some of the missionaries whom I have worked with in the past. While meeting with one of the missionaries, he shared with me their need for a business consultant at their school, which was expanding rapidly. It was at that moment that everything made sense. God had been sending me to Nicaragua all these years in preparation for the work He wanted me to do after college!”” – Stuart Li (Nicaragua)
